THE BANAUE RICE TERRACES SESSION

A+ for effort, but can we please get a wakeskater who is able to give a fair and accurate portrayal of how far wakeskating has come and how good some wakeskaters are these days. Sorry Red Bull but the year is 2013, and we all know that this stunt would have been better served by the likes of someone like Nick Taylor, Reed Hansen, Ben Horan, etc., etc., etc....

Don't think this is true, but it's entirely plausible. Pump fakes all day.

TOOTS!

I've come to accept the reality that summer is over. Yes, winter is coming and it's coming fast! Especially when you got SEB TOOTS dropping video parts like this, how could you not be stoked!?

Red Bull Manny Mania!

It's been a minute since I've updated this page, needless to say that summer has been a welcomed distraction. Since my last post I've been on a plane, built a new rail at my cottage, drove back to Ottawa, been to Beach Club twice, jumped off a bridge, and almost got struck by lightning.

One thing I did miss however was the 2012 Red Bull Manny Mania going down in front of Top of the World in Ottawa on Canada Day. So before anymore wakeboard related posts, thought I'd change things up share this little highlight reel that features fellow Top rider Mitch Barette who finished second at this year's Canadian final.

Red Bull's Supernatural sneak peak.

Still looking forward to watching the actual event, but why such a long wait? NBC's gotta know that the hype is sure to die down until then; and besides we already know who won. (Anyone catch that leaked video of the top three runs a few weeks back?)...Anyways I just hope that when they do air it on national television March 31st, they will at least spare us with the played out dubstep/super slow-mo/snowboarding tri-fecta.

Wake Cracker, circa 2007?

Might be old, but this has got to be one of my favourite contests of all time. Red Bull put together a very cool concept back in the summer of '07. Riders were brought into the Quebec wilderness (not knowing where they were going of course), basically in the middle of nowhere, got their heads shaved upon arrival, and then had to get creative in making their own rails and jibs with natural features. The highlight of the video is Oli Derome's tree bonk to frontside three. Probably one wakeboarding's most underrated stunts EVER, and that's real talk.
